Consume !!!

The chariot of the body. The five horses represent the five senses (tongue, eyes, ears, nose and skin). The reins, the driving instrument, symbolize the mind, the driver is the intelligence, and the passenger is the spirit soul... Bhagvad Gita,6.34

Whatever one can imagine or what ever is consumed in the world is by only these five senses. Bhagwad gita says that passenger is spirit soul, but off late every recession hit government is proclaiming that consumption is the only way out.

More the world consumes, more will be produced, more employment it would impart, and more prosperous world would be.Recession signifies decreased ability to consume. In economic sense, as the aggregate output decrease consecutively and unemployment is pervasive, it is sign of recession.

Let us understand the backdrop of the recession and how consumption is the only way out. 1929, the great depression taught as many lessons as thousand of books might have taught.

First lesson it taught to Adam smith, the father of modern Economics, who propagated that Supply creates its own demand. in actual sense It does'nt.

Second lesson it taught to the believers of capitalism, that it has capacity to brign the things to normalcy.

Third lesson it taught to Government, that it can not leave individual or corporations to live their greed on the cost of others.

But the most important lesson it gave to economist that "aggregate demand and supply" can be controlled by government using monetary and fiscal policies. It will keep the economy going by maintaining the level of consumption of the country, or ability to produce so that world consumption needs can be met by other countries who have so called "comparative advantage".

Consumption by sense 1-tounge: Food & Taste.

Human existence depends upon this consumption. From sea food to milk, any thing tht we eat comes in this category. It is very essential to meet our minimum biological needs. So how to produce grain, milk, meat edible products, oils, pulses, rice and everything is of prime importance. But how can we kept on increase the average consumption. And average consumption of world population has increased in last century. From packaged foods to half-cooked food. From frozen meat to procured vegetables, everything is in demand. So first priority of any county is food self sufficiency. Every step is taken in this direction only. If denmark has comparative advantage for milk, so that Japan has in Sea-food. India in Grains and bangladesh in Jute.

Aim: increase this consumption, attract to people eat more and more. Serve them with servitude and serve them in the environment so that eating can be turned into pleasurable experience.

Consumption by sense 2-Eyes: beauty lies in beholder's....

Make the world beautiful. Beautiful cars, beautiful dresses, beautiful wines, beautiful packaging, beautiful art, cinema, and design. It must provoke the consumption. What is pleasing to eyes is the mantra. From Platinum rings to diamond necklace, from Ferrari to watches, from armani suits to gorgeous dresses. Customer satisfaction holds this mantra. First impression is last impression. First impression is what you see for the first time.

Consumption by sense 3-Ear: Did u listen to that....

One of the oldest method of catching the attention of the individuals, and considered distracting in many religions, Music is one of the items that has greatest propensity of get consumed. it is also important ingredient sof the pleasure experience.

Consumption by sense 4-nose: Scant of ....

from flowers to fragrance of french perfumes, you have several things that needs to catered by this industry.

Consumption by sense 5-Skin(mind): It is actually the core of the maximum consumption done by the consumers. From thiought to any thing that can make u feel ha[py is the result of skin. Its color of skin which has determine the fate of Individual int he US.

Bhagwad gita says that Soul is chariot of these senses. But it looks like that all the government policies are just to make sure that this consumption keep on increasing.

Why MBA !!!

The most difficult question for any young aspirant. MBA has become synonym to "rewarding career option", wide knowledge of Industry, door step to white collar job and respectful profession.

I was also one of the aspirant a few years back for this degree, and I am now thankful to GOD that I was not selected to one of the coveted MBA schools ( I considered it as BIG failure of my life), as by then I was not mature enough to know the real meaning of pursuing for this degree. For me it was then gateway for lucrative job, for me that means handsome salary and several packages that would take me around the world as part of my several global assignments.

I spent 5 years in leading MNC and one of the largest corporate house in India, and I learned what is business in true sense. I saw people who personify the words such as leadership, Inspiration, trust, loyalty, dedication and many more that we normally finds in the self-help books. Seeing people living such attributes makes u realize the other aspects related to these qualities, which are often not considered , discussed and pondered upon.

Sacrifice, stressful life, cul-de-sac state of professional life, moral-dichotomy are few of those attributes which are important ingredients of leadership, for which MBA trains you. These attributes are sin-qua-non of your approach towards problem solving, analysis and decision making. but these are never exposed, never brought into lime light when success rainbow is thrown into the market. When sparkling words are muttered in the praise of any product, idea or service. When individuals are taught the basics of Integration, trust and ethics they must also be trained in handling the dichotomy of idealism, the importance of sacrifice handling of stress.

Of course, MBA opens the gateway to big organisations, which are founded or conceived by humans like us, out of their passion, dream or initiative. These organisations in return provides product or service to the individuals. So every business is there to serve the customer or people like us. So doing any thing that has direct or direct impact on human being is of prime importance to keep bridle at our deeds, decisions and discretion. So until you are serving the people by your right acts, it is good. The moment your motive changes from service to any thing else, you have chosen the wrong path.

It is difficult path, you are chosen as one of the individuals who can make right decisions by the virtue of your skill, knowledge, expertise. you must fulfill the expectation of the masses from your actions, deeds and decision.

This is why I want to do MBA....

An Introduction !!!

Technology Management is set of management disciplines that allows organization to manage its technological fundamentals to create competitive advantage. Typical concepts used in technology management are technology strategy (a logic or role of technology in organization), technology mapping (identification of possible relevant technologies for the organization), technology roadmapping (a limited set of technologies suitable for business), technology project portfolio ( a set of projects under development) and technology portfolio ( a set of technologies in use).

Role of technology management function in organization is understand the value of certain technology for the organization. Continuous development of technology is valuable as long as there is a value for the customer and therefore technology management function in organization should be able to argue when to invest on technology development and when to withdraw.

Technology Management can also be defined as the integrated planning, design, optimization, operation and control of technological products, processes and services, a better definition would be the management of the use of technology for human advantage.

Perhaps the most authoritative input to our understanding of technology is the diffusion of innovations theory developed in the first half of the twentieth century. It suggests that all innovations follow a similar diffusion pattern - best known today in the form of an "s" curve though originally based upon the concept of a standard distribution of adopters. In broad terms the "s" curve suggests four phases of a technology life cycle - emerging, growth, mature and aging.

These four phases are coupled to increasing levels of acceptance of an innovation or, in our case a new technology. In recent times for many technologies an inverse curve - which corresponds to a declining cost per unit - has been postulated. This may not prove to be universally true though for information technology where much of the cost is in the initial phase it has been a reasonable expectation.

The second major contribution to this area is the Carnegie Mellon Capability Maturity Model. This model proposes that a series of progressive capabilities can be quantifies through a set of threshold tests. These tests determine repeatability, definition, management and optimization. The model suggests that any organization has to master one level before being able to proceed to the next.

The third significant contribution comes from Gartner - the research service, it is the hype cycle, this suggests that our modern approach to marketing technology results in the technology being over hyped in the early stages of growth.

Taken together these concepts provide a foundation for formalizing the approach to managing technology।
